Pagosa Springs comes alive every year for the 4th of July, and 2025 promises another packed week of community celebrations, Western heritage, live music, and small-town charm. Whether you’re a longtime local or visiting for the holiday, there’s something for everyone happening around town.
Here’s your guide to everything going on in Pagosa Springs this Independence Day week.
July 3–5 (10am–5pm) | July 6 (10am–4pm)
Kick off your holiday by browsing handmade goods and delicious bites across Town Park and the athletic field. Food vendors, artists, and a beer garden create a fun atmosphere for all ages.
July 3 @ 6pm | July 4 @ 2pm | July 5 @ 6pm
We are so excited to sponsor this event every year! A Pagosa tradition for 75 years, the Red Ryder Rodeo brings three days of classic rodeo action—bull riding, barrel racing, mutton bustin’, and more—at the Archuleta County Fairgrounds.
Grab a tube and hop in the San Juan River downtown for a festive, DIY float. Dress in red, white, and blue, and enjoy the cool mountain water with locals and visitors alike.
Enjoy patriotic favorites performed by Pagosa Springs musicians. The concert takes place on the lawn near The Springs Resort—bring a blanket or chair and settle in.
This community walk honors local veterans and first responders. It’s a reflective and meaningful part of the day, held in scenic Yamaguchi Park.
Yamaguchi Park transforms into a lively evening of live music, food trucks, and family fun. There’s no cost to attend, and it’s a great spot to settle in for the fireworks later.
If fire conditions allow, the show will light up the sky over Pagosa Springs around dusk. Yamaguchi Park is the best viewing location, so arrive early to grab your spot.
Yamaguchi Park’s baseball field turns into a kid-friendly play zone with bounce houses and activities. Open July 3, 5, and 6 (10am–7pm), and July 4 (12pm–7pm).
