Galles Community Fund Spotlight: Celebrating DUST2 in Pagosa Springs

Every year, Galles Properties real estate agents in Pagosa Springs donate a portion of their sales proceeds to our brokerage's Galles Community Fund. This fund is then distributed to local organizations serving those in need across our area.

Today, we are absolutely thrilled to announce that we have once again donated a portion of our community fund to an organization doing phenomenal work in our town: DUST2!

What is DUST2?

DUST2 is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in Pagosa Springs, Colorado, dedicated to youth mountain biking, trail maintenance, and community building. Operating on a mission of Teams, Trails, and Community, DUST2 has run a youth mountain bike team since 2017 that teaches local middle and high school students life skills, confidence, and leadership while promoting an active outdoor lifestyle.

The Power of Youth Cycling

DUST2 has created something truly special for the youth of Archuleta County. Since 2017, the Pagosa Springs DUST2 Youth Mountain Bike Team has helped over 150 student-athletes.

The program goes far beyond just learning how to navigate singletrack trails; it is a comprehensive youth development initiative. The organization instills confidence and teaches leadership skills. It builds healthy independence for young athletes. It promotes a lifelong love for an active outdoor lifestyle.

Trail Stewardship and Community Impact

One of the most inspiring aspects of DUST2 is their dedication to giving back to the very trails we all love to recreate on. The organization actively starts students on a path to stewardship by involving them in local trail maintenance.

In a single season, the DUST2 team logged over 250 hours of trail work and maintenance. Their stewardship efforts help maintain beloved local riding areas like the Reservoir Hill, Dakota Springs, and Turkey Springs trail systems.

Because their work is based 100% on volunteer labor, donations, and grants, community support is vital. We are so proud that the Galles Community Fund can help them purchase needed trail tools, provide athlete scholarships, and put more local kids on bikes!
